LAPOINTE ROSENSTEIN MARCHAND MELANÇON RAISES OVER $40,000 DURING THE ENBRIDGE RIDE TO CONQUER CANCER
Lapointe Rosenstein Marchand Melançon is much more than just a law firm. It is a community of caring and compassionate individuals, looking to make a difference. In this spirit, Lapointe Rosenstein Marchand is proud to have participated in the Ride to Conquer Cancer, a two-day cycling event to raise money to support cancer research, treatment and care.
In 2013, at the initiative of two of the firm’s young lawyers, Lapointe Rosenstein Marchand Melançon participated in the Ride to Conquer Cancer for the first time. The experience was so enriching and inspiring for the team that they have been participating ever since, making 2015 their third year in a row. This year, the team’s 13 cyclists collectively raised over $40,000. In three years, the LRMM team has raised over $155,000.
Proud of their success and having been deeply moved by the experience, the firm embarked on this adventure in 2015 with a new dynamic and enthusiastic team, who rode their bikes over 230 km this past July 11th and 12th.

Under the direction of their Captain, Philippe Dumaine, an attorney practising in the field of commercial litigation, the new team was comprised of 13 cyclists.
It is also noteworthy that the firm benefitted from the presence and support of Mtre Howard Dermer, president of the Jewish General Hospital Foundation and an attorney at the firm. He presided the first two editions of the Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer, in 2009 and 2010.
In order to participate in the Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer, each cyclist was required to raise a minimum of $2,500. The LRMM team, which had to raise at least $35,000, greatly exceeded this amount, and raised a total of $40,082.
To attain this objective, the LRMM team did not hold back with its fundraising efforts. Beyond each team member’s individual fundraising activities, the LRMM team held a series of fundraising activities within the firm over the past months, including weekly breakfasts, a bowl-o-thon, raffles and jean days. The firm’s attorneys and personnel took part in the team’s financing events in great numbers, and we sincerely thank them for their unfaltering support.
Donations and Sponsors
Beyond the financing activities held throughout the winter of 2014 and spring of 2015, the LRMM team members went to great lengths to obtain donations and sponsorships from various suppliers and clients of the firm. A great number responded to our requests and contributed significantly to the success of the financing campaign. A tremendous and sincere thank you goes out to all of our donors and sponsors. Our financing objective could not have been reached, let alone exceeded, without their generous support.

Aside from fundraising, LRMM’s team also needed to train! Pedaling from Montreal to Quebec over two days is a challenging ride. While some of the team members are seasoned cyclists, others had only acquired their bikes shortly before the ride! In any event, each and every member trained hard in order to participate in the ride.
A Compelling Vocation
Lapointe Rosenstein Marchand Melançon and its team went all out for the 2015 edition of the Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer. Everyone was driven by the same cause: making a concrete contribution towards cancer research, treatment and care, in order to conquer cancer. The team gave their all and truly made this year’s Ride to Conquer Cancer a tremendous success.
