LAPOINTE ROSENSTEIN MARCHAND MELANÇON IS EMBARKING ON THE ENBRIDGE RIDE TO CONQUER CANCER
Lapointe Rosenstein Marchand Melançon is much more than just a law firm. It is a community of caring and compassionate individuals, looking to make a difference. In this spirit, Lapointe Rosenstein Marchand is proud to participate in the Ride to Conquer Cancer, a two-day cycling event to raise money to support cancer research, treatment and care.
In 2013, at the initiative of two of the firm’s young lawyers, Lapointe Rosenstein Marchand Melançon participated in the Ride to Conquer Cancer for the first time. The experience was so enriching and inspiring for the team that they participated once again in 2014. In two years, the LRMM raised almost $115,000.
Proud of their success and having been deeply moved by the experience, the firm has once again decided to embark on this adventure in 2015 with a new dynamic and enthusiastic team, who will ride their bikes over 230 km this coming July 11th and 12th.

Under the direction of their Captain, Philippe Dumaine, an attorney practising in the field of commercial litigation, the new team will be comprised of 14 cyclists.
It is also noteworthy that the firm will benefit from the presence and support of Mtre Howard Dermer, president of the Jewish General Hospital Foundation and an attorney at the firm. He presided the first two editions of the Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer in 2009 and 2010.
In order to participate in the Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer, each cyclist is required to raise a minimum of $2,500. The LRMM team must therefore raise at least $35,000, but the team is not satisfied with this minimum objective. That being said, the LRMM team has set its own objective of raising at least $45,000.
To attain this objective, the LRMM team will not hold back with its fundraising efforts. Beyond each team member’s individual fundraising activities, the LRMM team will hold a series of fundraising activities within the firm over the next months, including weekly breakfasts, a bowl-o-thon, raffles and jean days.

The LRMM team will also be counting upon the generosity of numerous sponsors. In exchange for their financial contribution, sponsors will see their logo emblazoned on the clothes which will be proudly worn by the team’s cyclists during the Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer for all sponsors who confirm prior to May 8, 2015.

Aside from fundraising, LRMM’s team will also need to train! Pedaling from Montreal to Quebec over two days is a challenging ride. While some of the team members are seasoned cyclists, others have never ridden such a great distance! In any event, each and every member will have to train hard through the upcoming weeks in order to participate in the ride.
Activities will certainly not be lacking from now to July 11th! Lapointe Rosenstein Marchand Melançon and its team will be going all out for the 2015 edition of the Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer. Each of the LRMM team members has his or her respective reasons behind taking on this challenge, though everyone is driven by the same cause: bringing a concrete contribution to the advancement of research so we can triumph over cancer. The team is resolved to give their utmost in order to make this edition of the Ride to Conquer Cancer a tremendous success.
